It all started with a few pharmacy students at the UIC College of Pharmacy coming together to found a brand new organization, giving birth to this local chapter of MSLS
Founded in 2021 and based in Chicago, IL, MSLS UIC is a group of driven students who came together for their interest in the MSL profession. Scroll down just to see who exact make up our current Executive Board
Meet the Team
The Heart and Soul of MSLS UIC
Outside of school and working on the MSLS, I am an active volunteer and leader of the 21st Century Good Neighbor Program. This is an initiative working to reduce feelings of social isolation and loneliness in the older adult population. It has been a really rewarding experience and am grateful to have had the opportunity to help with the program and its’ expansion. When I am not volunteering or at school, I love to spend time catching up with friends, exploring new places to hike and kayak, or going to the dog park with my puppy, Suzie!
Lindsay Cohen
When I’m not studying, I like to paint, draw, knit, cook, and explore Chicago as a newbie. I am a huge fan of every small/fluffy animal, and if you take me to the park or the zoo- chances are you’ll lose me. My family has a mini-schnauzer puppy named Pepper that I love dearly, and I also have a twin brother who I almost love just as much. ;)
Anna Dazy
When I am not studying or freaking out about exams (not mutually exclusive) I love to run along the Chicago Riverwalk, FaceTime my family, Read, Drink wine, watch Netflix, and go Scuba Diving! (weather permitting of course). I also am a huge dog person so please feel free to send me pictures of your dogs.

When I finally catch a break from the grind, catch me hitting up Chicago landmarks, renting luxury exotic cars, and waiting for my Instagram to get sponsored brand deals ;)
Jeffin "GQ" Koshy
Outside of school, I work as a pharmacy intern at CVS in Chicago. I am a dog lover, huge Chicago Cubs fan, and enjoy being outdoors. You can catch me doing anything outdoors like playing sports, watching a sporting event, or just relaxing. I also love hanging out with some friends and going shopping. My favorite things during the summer months are going on walks/hikes, hanging out at the beach, and enjoying the nice weather.
Hayley Barnhouse
I spend most of my free time catching up on things I procrastinated on doing(just kidding). Prior to the pandemic, my interests involved social gatherings, bowling, trivia and now I just study lol. On a more serious note, I love outdoor events, game shows, sports, and trying new food. My personal interests include surviving pharmacy school. I hope I’ve caught your attention as well as lightened your mood.
Alex Obafemi
Outside of school, I’m currently working as an intern at CVS and an extern at UI Health where I help to manage the UI-Team Rx program. On the weekends, I enjoy relaxing longboarding/biking sessions around the city. Other hobbies that I love include traveling and filmmaking. I am looking forward to seeing everyone at our future events!
Khang Nguyen
a little bit about me: When I’m not knee deep in schoolwork and studying, I enjoy cooking, baking, reading, exploring Chicago, obsessing over pop culture and music, and, of course, binge-watching Netflix series. Having recently moved and having had remote-based learning for the past year, I don’t know too many people here, so I would love to make new friends through this club. I’m excited for the upcoming year and the opportunity to learn more about the MSL profession
Reena Khaira
Outside of school, I work as a pharmacy intern at Walgreens pharmacy. I also enjoy going out with my family and friends! I volunteer at a VA Hospital and engage in many extracurricular and club activities. I use up my breaks to try new things as well as to relieve stress.

Angela Kim
As for me personally, I like to spend my free time relaxing by myself, whether that be binging Youtube videos or casually playing some video games. I do enjoy both eating and making food as well, but more so the eating portion.
